Commercial Risk Europe's half-day seminar has been designed to help guide professional insurance buyers and providers through the rapidly changing supervisory, legislative and legal landscape emanating from Brussels. The seminar will provide delegates with an open environment in which todiscuss the key issues that are significantly changing the way the risk capital is regulated, managed and allocated.

In March 2010 five years will have passed since the major accident occurred at the BP Texas City Refinery. Also, 25 years ago, there were a serious number of fatalities as a result of a major accident in Bopahl, India.  Process safety, prevention, protection and risk reduction are key elements to avoid such accidents ever happen again.

The Baker panel report was released on January 2007 and industry is starting to adopt the implementations set out in the report. Within the scope of these anniversaries, BELRIM and ERM organise a seminar on process safety and the impact of the Baker report for the chemical and petrochemical industry.

This seminar and exchange will take place in Antwerp on a location with the biggest solar power station of Belgium, view over the harbour, the river Scheld and the (petro) chemical industry, on May 6th and will take a full day.

Topics to be addressed will include:

The importance of management commitment on process safety management;
Safety management and safety culture;
Human factors and incident prevention;
Process Safety Management (PSM) leading & lagging indicators;
The impact of the Baker report on legislation and inspections; and
Industry cases, highlighting the impact of the Baker report recommendations. 

Speakers will be EHS and risk managers from the industry, representatives of the agency, professional federations and specialized consultants.
